Someone was looking down on us kindly on Saturday September 3rd!
Despite the morning showers, the sun (almost) came out for the Fete- at least it was dry – until the heavens opened half an hour after we closed! And just as we opened the Fete, there was a tremendous fly-past of 12 vintage bi-planes – no-one owned up as to who organised it but next year we are hoping they will get the Red Arrows!
The weather may have put off a few but those that came had a great time. Midhurst Mayhem Band whipped up the energy levels and, as usual, we had all our favourite stalls, the ever popular dog show, plus some great new stalls, such as the accessory stall.
And the weather didn’t deter the ice cream fans who indulged themselves with delicious ices from Fitzcaine’s.
When we asked visitors what they liked about the Fete, they invariably said how friendly everyone was – which is a great compliment to all those volunteers who put in such hard work to make the day a great success. A great big Thank You to everyone who helped us raise an amazing £3000.
