Launch of Children’s Society House Box Network – Sunday Service 29 April Heyshott

No child should feel alone

Right now in this country there are children who feel scared, unloved and like they simply don’t matter.  They’re not seen, they’re not understood, and they aren’t getting the help they need.

In fact, we know that a million children and young people in England are living with seven or more serious problems in their lives.

The Children’s Society is a national charity, running local projects to help the most vulnerable 10-18 year olds across the country with a number of complex issues. Last year, we worked with more than 13,000 children directly, and made 27 national and local policy changes that improved the lives of more than 3 million children and young people.

All of this would not be possible without the dedication of our supporters.

Fiona Mackay will be coming to give a talk about the work of The Children’s Society on 29th April 2018, when Tanya Ward will be launching a new house box network across the benefice. Members of the community have a box in their home and pop their spare change into it as and when is appropriate.  They also encourage visiting family and friends to do the same.  Once a year, Tanya will ask for your box, where she will count it and pay in the money.

There are 88,640 box holders across the country who raised an incredible £1,685,374.73 last year.  Having a house box is a great, non-invasive way to raise money towards our essential work across the country.  Tanya will have boxes available at the service on 29th April, so please do consider signing up for one.  If you’re not able to attend the service please contact Tanya on 01730-601101 who will arrange to get a box to you.

You can also support our work through giving your time as a volunteer, signing up for our monthly prayer email and supporting our current campaigns.  For more information, please visit www.childrenssociety.org.uk
